The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which is known as FAFSA, is the form that families fill out to apply for federal grants, loans, and work-study funds for college students. It is administered by the U.S. Department of Education, which provides over $150 billion in student aid each year. Some schools have FAFSA deadlines as early as mid-February, so now would be the time for families with college-bound children to get their financial documents together and prepare to apply.
If you are interested in filling out a FAFSA or need assistance filling out a FAFSA, Columbus Tech is hosting a workshop on Saturday, January 25th between 10 A.M. and 1 P.M. You will need to bring a personal email address and the social security number of you and your parents. This workshop is not just for people who are planning to attend Columbus Tech. This workshop is for people who needs further assistance with the FAFSA, but Columbus Tech will waive their application fee for anyone who will attend the workshop. You may attend if you’ve already completed your FAFSA. Refreshments will be served.
If you are not able to attend Columbus Tech February 25th, you can always go to FAFSA.ed.gov to fill out your FAFSA. Deadlines for FAFSA are different for all colleges, so make sure you plan ahead!
