National Signing day was February 1st, 2017. On that day, the top athletes of the class of 2017 will decide where they will play football for the next four years of their lives. The number one ranked player in the country Jaelon Phillips signed with his parents alma mater the UCLA Bruins. Also Two running backs which just happen to be the top two players in their class also signed, Cam Akers signed with the Florida State Seminoles,and Najee Harris signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Also from Honolulu, Hawaii, the five star, dual threat quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has signed with the University of Alabama. The University of Alabama had the number one ranked recruiting class for the seventh year in a row. Players like Dylan Moses, Najee Harris, Mac Jones, Jerry Jeudy, LaBryan Ray, Alex Leatherwood and Tua Tagovailoa are just some of the players that signed with the Crimson Tide on National Signing Day.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have the second best recruiting class of 2017. Players like the fourth ranked player in the nation Marvin Wilson, and star safety from Isiah Pryor from IMG Academy. On the flip side, there were teams that struggled to close on the recruiting trail. Here are the big winners and losers from signing day, starting with a team that saw its fortunes change thanks to a torrid close to the 2016 season. The Alabama Crimson Tide with their seventh straight number one recruiting class are this year winners. And the South Carolina Gamecocks with yet another poor recruiting class are this years losers.
